Samsung Galaxy Tab Picked Up By Fourth Carrier in US

Samsung Galaxy Tab Picked Up By Fourth Carrier in USSamsung’s well-received Galaxy Tab, a tablet computer and competitor for the iPad, is now available through four networks in the US, including Sprint, Verizon, T-mobile, and now AT&T (the only network currently carrying the iPad.)

The Galaxy Tab costs $649 from AT&T with no contract, whereas it is available from other retailers for as low as $349 with a two year plan including some data time. AT&T currently offers the best stand-alone data plan, for $15 per month for 250MB – a good deal if you are willing to pay the higher upfront price.

The tablet computer has been called a serious contender for the market demand created by the iPad, with its smaller screen and popular Google Android operating system.  Unlike the iPad, consumers will likely be able to find good deals in the Black Friday sales after Thanksgiving and leading up to Christmas.

Consumers are advised to do their research online before heading into the shops for Black Friday, as some retailers are yet to announce their best deals for the holiday shopping season, and tablet computers, including the Galaxy Tab and the Apple iPad are on the top of many people’s wish lists in 2010.
